Title: Different versions and info

Hello,

In the past I owned one like this one, bought in Spain. Was one of the first Gen1 released here:

user posted image (not sure if was this one, or if there was any other yellow with numers!)

Anybody seen/own one like this? Its easy to find another one? Mine said in the back © Bandai 1997 Made in China.

Btw, im really confused regarding the differences between all the Gen1, I have seen Made in China, Made in Indonesia, etc.. and also confused between the difference of each "egg". How does the European, USA, etc.. eggs look? I have seen some with a white egg and black dots, and black egg with white dogs. Wich one is the original egg for the one I had, and did they changed anything between the Gen1 releases?

Thanks!

Lots of people have those, the picture you linked to is a Gen 1 or P1 (it can referred to as either), this topic should help you tell the difference between P1 and P2 - http://tama-zone.com/index.php?showtopic=10317

As for some saying "Made in China" and others saying "Made in Indonesia" I wouldn't worry about that, there were different factories in different countries producing the Tamagotchi as the demand when they first came out was very high. A P1 made in china will be no different to one made in Indonesia.

Your best chance of finding one nowadays is eBay. I still have my original P1 and P2 which I bought when they were released but have since bought several more fairly cheaply from eBay.

Thanks!

I know the differences between both versions, but was really confused regarding the if there was only an American-European version and a Japanese, or if there was a several amount of different versions.

Since I dont remember very well, im not really sure if was that yellow one. Do you know if there was any other yellow with the inverse clock face with random numbers?

Ah OK, sorry I misunderstood. I believe there is just one version of both P1 and P2 released for the American, European and Hong Kong/Asia Pacific regions albeit with different packaging and Japanese language versions of P1 and P2 released in Japan. The only differences between the "western" and Japanese releases apart from the language was the secret characters.

A second version of the P2 was released in Japan only, it had one different regular character and a different secret character than the original P2.

This topic has information on which secret characters are available for each.

Notice the pattern of spots on the egg are also different for each.

It's not an inverse clock face but this one is yellow with numbers -
