Description: on Ebay?

I was wondering, Do you think theyy work if there used and don't come with batteries? :argh:

It depends on what they look like, and whether the seller looks trustworthy. For example, I got a V1 off of eBay for 99 cents used with no batteries, and it works just fine! ^_^

With any of the older vintage pets it's going to be a gamble either way - if it's new in package, you take a risk with battery corrosion.
The added benefit is you usually get a better price for them and can sometimes get them for a steal. I have had used pets come with stripped screws and/or corrosion from not taking the old batteries out.
I've gotten many decent used lots so it's a chance worth taking. :)

I'm too OCD about germs and "where has this been?!" to buy used, lol. I'd only buy one if the seller had pics showing that the pet was still capable of running in some capacity, even if it was just the egg bouncing on the screen. I'm also coming into Tamagotchi off of collecting Digimon, and if you're buying Digimon pets, used pets are a real gamble because there have been so many fakes. I like having packaging there so I can verify that the pet's real that way, too. But if you're careful, you should be fine buying used. :)

Well if the seller is 100% Thats good, But the pet is from `97
And The pic of it says in the corner 6/23/03

I would want a picture that is up to date and shows the item in current form. Who knows what kind of damage it could of gone through since then, and also there's a high risk they just ripped the photo off someone else.
Although with the high amount of feedback the user has it's usually a good indication. I've just learned my lesson about bidding on new user auctions. It's been about a month now and I've yet to receive it. Luckily I only paid $6 in total so it isn't like I've been majorly ripped off. (But if I don't receive it here in the next couple of days I will be contacting Ebay for compensation either way...)

sorry to interupt, but at the moment i really dont trust used v-pets. the digimon i bought on ebay (a 1997 original) was "in good working order". it doesnt work. :( i've tried everthing to fix it, but to no avail. from now on, i'm really gonna check the sellers repuation before i buy.

You shouldn't base your view solely on one transaction. I have over 70 Tamagotchi, around half are used and bought from eBay, so far I have never recieved one which doesn't work (touch wood).

It depends if it is a real tamagotchi or not. If it is a fake one i wont buy it.
