Title: My First Ocean

DragonSparke - February 22, 2010 12:10 AM (GMT)
Well, I decided to go ahead and buy myself a nice red oceangotchi after finding one for a great price (37 dollars after shipping!)

I've read a lot about them and how hard to take care of they are.

My question is, has anyone had a really good experience with them?

Or any tips to share?

I don't think there are really good tips for them. Just pay EXTREMELY close attention to them. And hope for the best :P

They know when they are paused, so if you pause them, just leave the time the same.

I didn't know that... but then, I've never paused an Ocean.

It's not that the experiences with them aren't good; it's just that they're so frustrating sometimes. Just like real aquarium fish, they die for no reason sometimes.

Good luck with your Ocean. :)

Well I've never had a fish die on me for no reason

Maybe I'll have better luck with the ocean. :jump:

Yay! I love oceans! Congrats! One tip I have, when it's a planktonchi (the first stage) you can feed it all the snacks you want to make it happy, because it doesn't gain any weight till the next stage. After that, you'll definitely need to avoid any snacks though. Good Luck!!

While you can feed it snacks do be careful this has killed off many oceans.

Mine doesn't, I think that is just made up or a glitch.

I've been wondering about those pausing claims as well. I've read a log or two where they were paused and readjusted, and they never mentioned any problems.

Has anyone actually tested that claim?

They know they are paused, has been said about many vintage tamagotchis before. However, it isn't true; it's merely a myth. I've personally paused my Ocean before w/o any such consequences. The only thing pausing will do will be to disrupt the growth cycle and mess up your bear times--if you were keeping track of them--that's about it.

Ra,
