Title: Do you like (the sound of) the Tama-Go?
Description: I do, but I wanna hear your opinions.

Do you like (the sound of) the Tama-Go?
I do, and frankly I don't understand why everyone seems to dislike this new Tama. It's obviously not as good as the +Colour or iD, but considering some previous decisions made by Bandai America, it's pretty good. And the fact they're sending them out to some people to test them, and give them feedback, they must be trying their hardest to incorporate our suggestions into it.
What do you think? If you like it, why? And if you don't like it, why not? I mean, it really looks like to me that Bandai is trying to do what's best money-wise for them, while trying to impress their target audience, and most importantly us.
It's like the best of both worlds. A mix of the +Colour series from Japan, and the old Connection series from US and internationally.

I voted 'Yes'. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on one. :)

Ra,

It doesn't look too appealing to me. I want to get one for collection purposes and because the Kutchipatchi one is just too freaking cute. But it seems like it'll get old really fast and seems pretty bland and stripped? Like they literally took the ID and took out a bunch of features. It's like a bad prank on the US.

tamaaddict22 - July 3, 2010 01:05 PM (GMT)
The Tama-Go isn't really that appealing to me. I would really love a color Tamagotchi by BanDai. I mean it seems to me the Tama-Go will be the same old, same old. I mean of course I will buy one and all the characters figures I can get, but its not something that jumps out at me and yells "Buy me! I'm amazing!! I'm going to knock your socks off!"

So I voted "Not Sure"

TMGCLover92 - July 3, 2010 02:35 PM (GMT)
I voted "yes" as well, I'm actually really excited for this release! I really wanna test out the interchangeable face plate thingy!?

DDDTrooper - July 3, 2010 02:50 PM (GMT)
I voted Yes. It's still a little hard to get a really good idea, since they're not released yet, but overall, yeah, I guess I'd want one. :)

atashi - July 3, 2010 02:55 PM (GMT)
I vote yes - any new Tamagotchi release is exciting for me. :) I don't expect it to be as good as the Japanese counterparts but it's still neat to see the differences. I kind of enjoy it when they change it up a bit. A direct translation is kind of boring. :o

TechnoSound - July 3, 2010 03:06 PM (GMT)
I plan on saving up money for when it comes out.

@Ra: So am I!
@mirukucha: I guess you're right in a sense, but you have to remember we're not the main target audience for this Tama; and also the target audience probably doesn't want something quite so much like the iD. But, it does seem that they're listening to our suggestions for new Tamas, like toilet training, etc.
@tamaaddict22: I guess it's not a "knock-your-socks-off" kinda thing, but compared to other English-language Tamas, it's a significant step up.
@TMGCLover92: I'm excited for it too! The faceplate feature is kinda cool, you can literally change the shell of your Tama (but not the actual colour, just the faceplate (obviously))
@DDDTrooper: I agree. We won't know exactly what the Tama-Go's like until they're properly released, so we can't judge a book by it's (slightly opened) cover.
@atashi: Same. Agreed, I am interested in the differences too, and if we got a direct translation, for all those who've already got +Colours and iDs, it *would* be kinda boring.
@TechnoSound: I've already started! I have around $12 and counting that I'm gonna put towards one Tama-Go, one carry case, and as many figurines as possible.

As you can see above, more people are voting "Yes" and "Definitely!" than "Not Sure", "No" and "Definitely not!" That's good, I'd hate for Tamagotchi fans to not buy the lastest Tamagotchi!?

mirukucha - July 4, 2010 06:55 PM (GMT)
I'm definitely a Tamagotchi fan but I do make point to people and my friends that I'm a Japanese Tamagotchi fan. Even in my videos I've said it before. So it's sort of silly to say "You'd hate for Tamagotchi fans to not buy the latest one." Not all fans like the American ones and prefer the Japanese releases.

Plus, I'm sure a lot of people would rather like a direct translation of the Color or ID, since all they complain and whine about is not having a colored Tamagotchi in English.

DragonSparke - July 4, 2010 07:32 PM (GMT)
One thing I wonder - Are there Japanese tamagotchi fans who are all clamoring over the Tama-go, who prefer the english versions over the japanese? We do have a few things they didn't get - like the music star, and now the Tama-go.

mirukucha - July 4, 2010 07:44 PM (GMT)
^ That doesn't even make sense...If they're a fan of the Japanese ones, it would probably be a given they prefer the Japanese releases.

DragonSparke - July 4, 2010 11:32 PM (GMT)
^No, I mean tamagotchi fans that live in Japan. Of the japanese nationality.

junkroxy - July 6, 2010 12:56 AM (GMT)
I'm an old tamagotchi fan, and a fan of the newere connection/connexion line too since 2004. I dont like the shape of Tama-Go and the features seems to be as usual compared to the size of the new tamagotchi, but i know i'll change idea soon, like i did for the nu tamagotchi color ;)
I voted Not Sure ;)

tamagotchi:D - July 6, 2010 09:09 PM (GMT)
I voted
DEFIANTLY

I so want a Kuchipatchi one!!!

OldSchoolTama - July 10, 2010 08:08 PM (GMT)
I voted "not sure." I'm going to reserve judgment until I actually get it, if ever. As of now, I'd only get it for collection purposes. I'm not too excited about it.
