Because of the numerous topics about battery questions popping up lately, I've decided to put all the answers in one topic.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: What type of battery does my Tamagotchi need?

A: All of the newer Tamagotchi versions use 3V-CR2032 Batteries.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: A battery with an X over it appears on my Tamagotchis screen. What does this mean?

A: The X-ed battery sign means that your Tamagotchi's battery is low. Change the battery and the sign will no longer appear on your Tamagotchi's sceen, until you need a new battery. If you do nt change the battery, eventually the screen will go completely blank once the battery has lost all its power.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: How long does my Tamagotchi's battery last?

A: Despite a few batches of V1's and V3's, the average battery usally lasts from 3-6 months.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Where can I find batteries?

A: You find them at almost any drugstore (chemist), Grocery Store or News Agency.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: How do I change the batteries on my Tamagotchi?

A: Turn your Tamagotchi over, and you will see a screw on the back cover. Using a small screwdriver, unscrew it until the back cover comes off. Once that is done, you will see a battery. Carefully remove it. Put in your new battery. Your Tamagotchi will beep. Turn over your Tamagotchi and there will be an egg on the screen. Push the middle button - and the RESET and DOWNLOAD options will appear on the screen (see below)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: When I put a new battery in my Tamagotchi, I see reset and download. Wich one should I choose?

A: Downloading allows you to get the previous Tamagotchi you had back, while resetting starts your Tamagotchi over again at Generation 1. If you choose to RESET your Tamagotchi you will lose all your prior history including Gotchi points, items, souvenirs and friends lists. If you choose to DOWNLOAD your Tamagotchi it will begin from the last major event (waking up, growing, IR communication). Be sure to check the time after doing this and adjust it to the correct time.

Tama-Zone Top tip:

When putting a new battery in, try to avoid getting finger prints on it as it may interfere with its function

I really hope this helped anyone who has questions about the batteries.
