Below is a rough translation of the original Japanese source. (Thank you tarokaja for pointing this out to us.) Some details are probably mis-interpretted, so don't get upset if the final product isn't as described here.

New communication system that you'll want to show off!
New for Tamagotchi:
* Changeable accessory (shell?)
* Characters personality can be altered.
* You can keep the same character forever.
* You can overwrite existing games and items with new ones by downloading them.

New Tamagotchi Memory
* Change accessories to make your our Lovelitchi
* Download items from DekaTama
* Download new minigames through Cell Phone
* Download new wallpaper through Cell Phone
* It's lots more fun to connect Tamagotchis to each other

Whatever you want to download, you can download to make this into your original Tamagotchi.
* Unlike older Tamagotchi models, you can download data and overwrite as many times as you like.

As you customise more and more, you'll become attached to your character.
Instead of aging quickly from baby to adult. Now there's a friend stage. That's when you can use the new download function and influence their personality.

Improved Tamagotchi lifestyle!
Your Tamagotchi can go to a restaurant, go to a photo studio. In your garden, there's a mailbox for receiving letters.

Looks like they are continuing with the colour screen then, so the TMGC+C must have been sucessful enough. I can't wait to find out more

When does Bandai normally update their site? Theydo a big one about this time don't they (I suppose they've already done it- changing the background and all)

Hopefully we'll get more info soon. When did they first ad the TMGC+C to their site? does anyone remember?

I really hope this helps to convince Bandai to bring either this model or the TMGC+C over to the states. I think the whole "the final product would cost too much" thing was just a cop out.

Sounds very interesting. I wonder if it'll be like the Keitai where we can't use the cellphone download option though. Perhaps Binary could write a cheat for this too though. :3

I got all excited when I saw Donatsutchi there, then realized he was probably just visiting Chamametchi and wouldn't be raiseable. *sigh* Looks pretty darn cool, at any rate. Not too sure how I feel about the faceted jewel faceplates, but if they're interchangeable, that's going to be spiffy.

Can't say the cellphone connectivity thrills me, though--even if it was released in the US and was compatible with phones here, I probably wouldn't use it, in part because I doubt my phone could handle it or my carrier would carry it.

This sounds amazing, if this indeed is released in late 2009 then I'm going to probably skip the Hexagontchi which I was originally going to order for Christmas. Words cannot describe how excited I am to see how this concept plays out.

Hopefully, more characters will be downloadable as well as items and games. I'd love to see an Ura character pack for this at some point.

Bandai America (and the other Bandais outside Japan) would be stupid not to release it!
Looks like I'll have to wait until next year to get this one, because I've already told my parents to get me a Hexagontchi for Christmas... ah well!!!
EDIT: Just remembered; before I posted this I translated the name. It is called:

Tamagotchi iD

And I want a yellow one. ^_^
