Welcome to the 2013 Santa Hatch! Hatchers are not required to post pictures, but they are certainly encouraged! Comments are welcome; feel free to join in on our fun, even if you don't have a Santagotch of your own, and read along.

I know sometimes Santagotchis have a habit of resetting themselves; if this happens, you are allowed to start over if you wish. Happy hatching, everyone!

Evie, I added in the official Santaclautchi banner, hope you don't mind. :santa:

Well, looks like I'm the first one up!

This will be my first time hatching my Santa. I bought mine several years ago from YJP, but never had the chance to run it up until now. With the Winter Break, it has finally given me the chance to pull the tab! I will be hatching the green shell, which is my favorite! I've also chosen to pull out one of my green hard cases, as I thought it would go really nicely with the overall theme. :)

At 4:39PM this afternoon, I pulled the tab, set the date and time...

...and watched Santa's little house appear out of thin air. As it's his own house--and no one will be coming down his fireplace--he's able to light the fire and have some smoke rings billow from his chimney!

Around 5 minutes later, Santa emerged!

I immediately proceeded to feeding him his meat pies and cakes. One cool thing with the Santaclautchi is that he likes to feed himself when he feels like it.

So you basically just give him 4 of each, and he stores them in his bag. Whenever he's hungry, he pulls them out and gobbles down of his own accord. :haha:

After he was all fed and happy, we thought we'd give the chimney game a try! He seems to be a natural at it! He was able to find sleeping Tamagotchis each and every time! No soot marks to wash off tonight! XD

As a late note, we checked on the Events Calendar, and the window opened up to give us our daily gift of... yarn!

Now all the young little Tamagotchis are in the Christmas spirit, settled in front of their decorations, trees and wreaths, waiting for Santa to come down the chimney with bated breath!

That's all for this evening! Tomorrow, we'll transform the yarn into articles of clothing!

All right, it's hatch time!

EDIT: Ooh, we were posting at the same time, Ra! No, I don't mind at all; the banner looks great! Thanks for adding it. :santa:

Here's my Santa, all set for the hatch.

I pulled the tab (made from bologna packaging, if you're wondering, as its original tab broke) and was greeted by this cozy house.

I set the date and time, and after five minutes...

Santa appeared! He was hungry, so I fed him a meat pie.

He decided it was never too soon to start visiting houses, so down the chimney he went.

He saw many 'Gotches asleep in their beds on his visits.

Above you can see him celebrating his hard day's work...

...And above you can also see a couple pics of him after he went down some particularly dirty chimneys. ;)

Despite the soot and mess, Santa was content.

We got a gift of yarn from the advent calendar, which Santa was very pleased with.

He made himself a warm hat and became Snowboarder Santa!

Meanwhile, one child anxiously awaits the coming of Santa Claus...

For now, though, St. Nick and I are just chillin' out.

That's all for now. See you next time!

Evie

I started up my Santa and he's currently just Snowboarding Santa right now and is visiting houses, the usual. He's eating lots of cookies and drinking milk to bulk up for the "big day". You know how it is. :santa:

Yeah, knit that hat.

The big unveiling.

Going down those chimneys and giving those gifts like a boss.

He knows he's the greatest Santa there ever will be. Look how proud he is of himself. He's like hell yeah, I am so awesome! :tree:

Loving the awesome pictures from everyone so far! Thank you for the banners, Evie - they're gorgeous!

Chiming in with my favorite shell design, the red one. :)

December 23, 2013

It is so, so early in the morning on December 23 right now but because I work nights and I recently just came off of a shift, my sleep schedule is out of whack and since I figured I have to go back to work on the evening of Christmas Eve anyway, I may as well stay up and sleep a little during the day today before I go on my errands.  Besides, I wanted to show you all the hatching, for the first time ever, of my Santaclautch.  Apologies for not posting sooner - I went out of town the whole day and I forgot to bring Santa with me where I was going and so here we are.  I got him hatched as early as I could.  I'll do my best to learn more and more about this little guy each day in between work, holiday shenanigans, wedding planning, etc., so bear with me.  I'm so excited to finally be running my Santaclautch during one of my most favorite times of the year!

So I unboxed, pulled the battery tab out, carefully unscrewed the battery cover open (I had asked the previous owner to ship it to me with the screws loose and batteries removed), and inserted new batteries.  I set the date and time and waited.

After 5 minutes, Santatchi emerged from his home.  I caught the "hatch" on camera and posted it on my YouTube channel.  It's not much, but I was so excited that I just had to capture the moment HERE.   :)

During the next hour, I tried learning as much as I could by trial and error alone.  It just sticks a little bit more when you learn things by doing it yourself.  I'll let the pictures do most of the talking.  I just absolutely love the animations on this Tamagotchi!

First item from advent calendar - yarn - and transformation into Skateboarder Santa!

After Santa put on some more clothes, :P I tried my hand at the game.  Success!

As others have mentioned - Santa won't eat all his food right away.  You can feed him a full 4 times but he'll store all but one (which he'll usually eat on the spot if his hunger meter is empty) in a cooler, which he'll eat when he pleases.  Indeed, right around 45 minutes after I hatched my Santa, I saw him snacking away.  Maybe next time I can actually catch it on camera.  Also, I wanted to catch a picture of Santa Vision - what Santa sees in the homes as the days go by.  At present, there is a baby Tamagotchi character standing next to a wreath, getting into the holiday spirit.  It's my understanding that this picture will evolve the more time passes and the more Santa increases his "Santa-ness."

Time for bed.  More to come soon!

Good to see you made it in, OST! I'm loving that with all of our Santas, we're representing all of the colors now. :santa: Hope to see the rest of the participants who signed up as well.

So yesterday evening, I thought I'd give the yarn a go and see what Santa could come up with.

He took out his knitting needles, knitted himself a beanie, and transformed into the Snowboarder Santa! He looks so cool!

Then around noon today, I heard loud cries echoing out from Santa, and when I looked over to see what was wrong, I found the screen vacated! Looks like Santa was having too much fun in his Snowboarder outfit that he decided he didn't want to be Santa anymore, and just go snowboarding instead.

Well, I couldn't have that of course, so I called Super Kuchipatchi in desperation and he rushed over to my rescue. It wasn't long before he returned with a sulky Santa in his arms.

Meanwhile, further news from the Christmas crowd shows a little boy in front of his slowly growing Christmas tree, all excited and waiting.

Towards later in the afternoon, we checked the Event Calendar and were given a bolt of fabric.

Not completely over his love of snow, Santa sat down at his sewing station and made himself a Penguin outfit! He's now waddling around, looking awkwardly cute.

I have yet to come across any items from the chimney game. Has anyone had better luck with that?

I didn't realize I wouldn't have access to a computer here! These posts will be fairly image-lite until Saturday. I had trouble figuring out how to post the images yesterday, but a complicated dance with Tumblr seems to work for now.

I started my Santa up around 2:30pm yesterday. I've got the white egg, which I've had about 15 years. I ran it once when I bought it, but don't remember a thing about it, so this is a nice restart for me.

He left his house after about 5 minutes. First order of business (after filling his little cooler full of food and snacks) was checking the advent calendar for a special item. Yarn was delivered, which he made into a little hat and transformed into Snowboard Santa.

The game yielded many sleeping Gotchis, but no special items today. Meanwhile, Babytchi watched a wreath eagerly and waited for the holidays to commence.

Santa has been enjoying himself more than he should be. He already went off snowboarding without my consent and had to call Super Kuchipatchi to go fetch him off the top of the mountain. Immediately when he came back I sent him back out to make his rounds to the houses.

The first time down he ended up in a heap of soot and I can't say he was pleased.

He was so mad that he actually broke his snowboard in half. That's what he gets for taking the day off to go snowboarding.

Since he had broken his snowboard, I thought it was time to check the advent calendar. Today he was given a roll of cloth.

I gave Santa the cloth to see what he came up with. He ended up sewing himself a penguin costume!

He changed into his penguin suit and put on a show as he modeled it for me.

He looks pretty fly, if I say so myself. Even though, penguins can't fly.

Until next time, the day was saved thanks to Super Kuchipatchi!

@-Ra-: I haven't found any items from the games yet, either. Just sleepy 'Gotches and lots of soot. :P

Today we got a bolt of fabric from the advent calendar, and Santa made himself a snazzy new outfit!

He's a little worried that all of the other Santas are going to laugh and call him names (and never let him join in any penguin games), but he is genuinely happy with his new look. :)

That's all for today. Loving all these Santas! So glad we decided to have this hatch. :3

My Santa found the same bolt of fabric in the Advent calendar, and also decided to make himself a sailor suit instead of a penguin costume. ^_^

His travel distance went up by one today, which made me happy. He also had a moment of weakness when he left his post and Christmas needed to be saved by Super Kuchipatchi. Don't remember if it went up before or after that.

His chimney travels today yielded some soot, many sleeping Gotchis, and no special items.

The Christmas Watch shows a very excited little Tamatchi and his little tree.

Sorry again for the huge, poor photos. I only have my phone with me this week. ^_^;

Haven't had any luck with getting items during the game either...maybe it's a thing that happens a few days more in?

Not much going on with Santa today.  I had already used his item for the 23rd, so he was just chilling the entire day.  Very snowboarder-like mindset of him to take it easy.  :P  I even caught him snacking at random intervals.  Of course, he was briefly reminded of his Santa duties when he looked upon his Santa Vision screen to see a young Tamagotchi trimming the tree.  With renewed spirit, Santa continued preparing for the big day!

Thats all for now.  I work on December 24th so I'll be back on the 25th for more...once I get some sleep after my shift.  :D I'm looking forward to a new item and seeing who Santa will transform into next!

I'm enjoying reading about all the adventures Santa is having. Happy holidays, everyone!

OST, I think you may be right in assuming that finding items down the chimney is something which occurs later, b/c I came across so many of them today.

My apologies, some of the pictures were taken from my phone, and are therefore a little difficult to see.

So as I was saying, today seemed to be a good day for finding items via the chimney game. I kept coming across items. I've got around 5 of each now--all except the egg!

So Santa first used some yarn to make himself his red hat!

Then some cloth for his big red suit!

And finally the chisel for his sleigh!

So he's an almost complete Santa now. I've played the game over and over again in the hopes of coming across the egg, but I just keep finding more of the other three. Therefore, Santa is flightless tonight. All but one of his Santa-ness meters are filled, and his Distance meter's filled in by two for now.

At this point, I'm a little confused. Tonight is Christmas Eve, and he's supposed to have completed his transformation to go on his ride through the skies to all the waiting little gotchis.

But, as we've only been running them now for 2 days, and with the egg still missing (plus the Distance meter is far from filled) it doesn't look as though he'll be making his rounds tonight. So does that mean Christmas is cancelled in Tama Town? What a sad little thought.

Hang in there, little gotchi! If Santa won't make it, uncle Ra will!

That's all for this evening. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all! :tree: :santa:

My Santa has been spending the whole day visiting Tamagotchis houses to prepare for his big night tonight. All his hard work paid off because he made himself a hat, coat and sleigh! He still hasn't found himself a reindeer, but hopefully he'll find one before tonight. :santa:

Until next time...

Since my images are still a problem, I'll only post one today. Sorry again for that. ^_^;

A chisel was in the advent calendar this morning, so Santa made himself a pencil and turned into Santa Geek, who removes his glasses when he gets angry. At one point, Santa got shy and hid behind his chimney, so a well-timed letter had to bring him out of hiding.

Various forages down chimneys today yielded between 15-20 items, all yarn, chisels, and cloth. I saved the costume change ‘till the evening. I used all my stock items and more I won later, but just couldn’t get Santa to make an item he didn’t already have. I worry, because the only items he can make are the least Santa transformations. As far as I know, I’m doing everything right, though. I refill his cooler when he eats, I quickly caught the only two calls for attention the last three days, and I play a vigorous session of chimneys about once an hour. For some reason though, the chimney game doesn't seem to refill his happy meter, even when he's on a winning streak. Maybe it's because he's not very Santa-looking? I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

The Tamatchi on Santa Watch is still stretching to decorate its tree, though, and Santa's distance meter went up by one again, so that's hopefully still a good sign. I also got to see Santa's sleigh tonight after he turned the lights out.
