There's a reason you can't see the light. Infra-red light (like ultra-violet) are invisible to the human eye.

Thanks for the reply! oops, I didn't know that.. I have been only looking at videos so I was able to see it there. This is the first time using infrared to transfer things! What are some possible reasons that there is a connection error (the blue heart with x's)? It shows that its connecting with the red hearts and then it just shows up blue...

Hi MrBlinky! Just wondering if there are any updates yet. Last I heard two months ago, everything was already translated and the last thing to do was just code the last two or three items into the patch.

Just wondering how that's going and if we're close to a release yet? I've got my fingers crossed for a holiday release. It would be so awesome to finally be able to play with my P's this Christmas

My fingers are crossed, but my hopes are not high. All signs seem to point to the Patch taking a backseat to the 4U app again (twitter feeds, conspicuous lack of response to this thread, etc). It's a shame, 'cause that 4th patch is so close.

Sorry I've not been using Tama-Zone much lately. Mostly because social media seems to be have a larger audience and more convenient.

I'm working towards a xmas/new year release.

Park text are almost all translated into English and are about to be added to the final script.
The remaining diary text are a real pain to implement and I'm saving those for last. They require a lot of improvising to add the dynamic texts. (screenshots of your diary entries would be handy to get the best out of it, feel free to send them to me)

The project page Isn't updated for a while and probably won't be untill the 4th patch is ready.

With the Diary text being so complicated, would you be willing to release the 4th patch *without* the diary translations? And then once the Diary texts are finished, you could just add them afterward and then replace the 4th patch on your server with an updated version of the 4th patch?

The reason I'm asking is because the diary text is really the least significant part of the whole tama and has no effect on the actual gameplay. In fact, I never even look at the diary. And I'm probably not the only one.

However, many of us have been waiting until the 4th patch before even *starting* our P's. And we've been hoping like crazy that we might be able to play them by the holidays.

At least this way (if it's possible), people who don't care about the Diary section will have the choice to play without a translated diary. And people who DO care about the Diary, have the option to wait for the final updated version of the patch.

Hi @Mr.Blinky (and everyone)!

I bought two of these as christmas presents and have managed to patch them using an old Sharp Zaurus PDA. I had a couple of questions about the 4th patch:

Will it cover the tomagotchi's speech (when they do little speech bubbles)?
Will it allow entering your name in English?
Is it still on track for xmas/new year? I still haven't wrapped the tamas as I am hoping it will be ready just in time!

Also, I was wondering about the technical side of the patching. You must have found a way to get code execution? What is the processor etc? Do you have any other details on this? I might be able to help with the patching process as I have experience in this type of thing (I'm no use for translation though).
