Hello all! Just an important notice from your friendly neighborhood OsuMesu21!
After starting Tamagotchi Wikia about a month ago, a lot of problems are sprouting up like weeds. I’m here to address them, and make sure I get a nice and clear-cut point across for (REGISTERED) Tamagotchi Wikia users.
1. Please, before starting a whole new article, MAKE SURE IT’S AN IMPORTANT TOPIC THAT DESERVES A NEW ARTICLE
. For example, Tosakatchi, a recent character that appeared on only on a few releases, does NOT deserve his own article. Mametchi, who has been used in numerous promotional advertisements, been around before half of TamaTalk was born, and has changed and developed over time, DOES deserve a separate article.
2. NO PERSONAL OPINIONS
. An encyclopedia is a collection of IMOPRTANT AND RELEVANT INFORMATION, and Wikis are essentially online encyclopedias. So why did I recently see “mimitchi was once a popular character and now isn’t I think its sad omg” on a page that I ended up deleting? Please, if you HAVE to talk about how you feel about something, take it to your friends.
. Please. We invented it. So we should use it, right? Remember the following: Tamagotchi always has a capital “T”; run-on sentences are unnecessary; periods, question marks, and exclamation points end sentences; all new sentences start with a capital letter; and gonna, kinda, cuz, bro, sis, duckish, alot, wtf, omg, lol, sorta, coulda, shoulda, woulda, ain’t, and zomfgwtfbbqroflmao are NOT ENGLISH WORDS. Unless I can find them in my dictionary (which I can't), don't use them.
4. NO SPAM
. I knew it, from the start, that we’d have the same problem Wikipedia is plagued with, and that is spam. An article was started recently, called “V4.5”, and this is what it said, in its own exact words:
lmmm,ldflm;gmnksfm;lsm b;jgsb;mwhj jsijg'apgnmfhs
I do NOT EVER
want to see that again. You know, EVER. It scares me.
5. COPYRIGHTS ARE TO BE RESPECTED
. Please don’t upload any picture without marking the legal ramifications (or conditions) at the bottom of the upload form. Tamagotchi Wikia doesn’t want to get sued, and neither do I.
Just remember these tips, and we’ll all be happy. ^___^
(P.S. If you find any of the above rude in any sense, which you shouldn't because I'm not here to be rude to anybody at all, I dare you to start your own Wiki about an incredibly popular franchise and have to shovel spam and worthless info from it daily. See what happens to your brain then. I DOUBLE dare you.)
