My first Tama story is kind of interesting. I didn't really get the concept of Tamas at first; I thought you were supposed to tab them back up to shut if off when you were done messing around with it! Somehow I managed to get to adulthood a few times and they kept dying.
It wasn't until I saw a friend at school that had another V1 that I started to grasp the concept of it. I dug mine out of my toy box and brought it in so we could connect. I ended up raising Jess the Tarakotchi, which is by far the Tama I raised on it that I have the most memories of, especially when I got the Boots from connecting. We both found it hilarious.
When she got married and had a baby, I was too attached to her to let her go! I kept her on pause the majority of the time. It went on like this until she ran out of batteries.
I didn't get a replacement battery until after the "low battery" warning went away. The replacement batteries only lasted about 10 minutes after being put in. (I guess they were faulty) Being a kid and all, I used logic to say that if you don't replace the batteries before the warning sign goes away, then the batteries won't last long at all. I thought this for all of my Tamas for years.
too attached to Jess to let her go, so I never replaced her batteries, even now, haha.
On another note, I thought my first dead Tama was another stage, which I dubbed "potato with wings" and I bragged about it to my Tama friends at school. "My Tama evolved into a 'potato with wings'! I can't wait to play Jump with my 'potato with wings'!" When I got home and eventually found out that it was dead, a massive "... Oh." was ensured.
